PENGELOLAAN LIMBAH MEDIS PADAT DI PUSKESMAS PANGKALAN KERINCI II TAHUN 2023

Abstract

Solid medical waste management is the process of processing waste from leftover materials from community health center activities that are no longer used and are infectious due to direct contact with patients or community health center staff. In this management, several problems were encountered, including mixing medical waste with non-medical waste. The aim of the research is to determine the management of solid medical waste at the Pangkalan Kerinci II Community Health Center in 2023. The type of research used is qualitative research with a case study design. Data collection used in-depth interview and observation guidelines. The research was conducted in August 2023. The results of the research showed that human resources at the Pangkalan Kerinci II Community Health Center had been met and had appropriate criteria, infrastructure had been met, solid waste management had been in accordance with the SOP but there were problems with the waste sorting process which was still mixed with waste. solid medical and non-medical waste as well as temporary storage of solid medical waste for up to 3 months, causing waste to accumulate. It is hoped that the Pangkalan Kerinci II Community Health Center will further optimize the solid medical waste management process and be able to educate officers involved in the management process so that they can carry out the medical waste management process well and officers can take part in training related to developments in the science of medical waste management.
