UPAYA PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH KANTONG PLASTIK DI KECAMATAN MARPOYAN DAMAI KOTA PEKANBARU

Abstract

Plastic bag waste management is an effort to manage plastic bag waste with the aim that this waste can still be reused and provides benefits and has a selling value so that the environmental impact and health problems it causes can be minimized. The purpose of this study was to determine community behavior in efforts to manage plastic bag waste in Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City. The research is quantitative analytic in nature with a cross sectional design. The research population is households in Kec. Marpoyan Damai Pekanbaru City with a sample of 97 families. Data collection through observation and questionnaires. Computerized data processing. Data analysis was performed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p value = 0.0001), attitude (p value = 0.0001) and action (p value = 0.0001) with the management of plastic bag waste. It is hoped that the community will be able to manage plastic bag waste starting from their own households so that problems of environmental pollution and health problems due to plastic bag waste can be minimized.
