Abstract

Minor injuries among elementary school children often lead to panic, excessive pain responses, and improper management due to limited health literacy. At the same time, school-based health education has not been fully integrated with contextual Islamic character development. This community service program aimed to improve students’ knowledge and skills in managing minor wound pain while strengthening progressive Islamic character through the implementation of the 7 Habits of Great Qur’anic Generation (GEQU). Methods included interactive education, demonstrations, simulations/role play, Islamic value reflection, and educational media in the form of posters and videos. The program was conducted with fifth-grade students of SD Muhammadiyah Pendowoharjo and involved teachers as facilitators. Results showed improved student understanding of minor wound management steps, increased confidence in performing simple actions such as cleaning wounds and applying plasters, and the ability to relate these experiences to values of patience, effort, and helping others. Teachers responded positively and committed to sustaining the program through the provided media. This program demonstrates an effective model for integrating basic health education with Islamic character education in elementary schools.
